Swords Are Snappin

Report Date: September 4, 2019

Fishing has been on fire the last few weeks. Earlier in the month I was able to do a trip to Nantucket and was fortunate enough to participate in The Big Game Battle. This is a Charity tournament to support children with cancer that has raised north of 1 million dollars over the past ten years.

Elgible species include billfish, tuna ,and mahi. We pulled an overnighter and traveled hundred miles offshore in the canyons to fish. The yellowfin tuna bite was amazing with most fish averaging from 30-60lbs. The weather was beautiful as it was my first time traveling to Nantucket. Great food and great people.

On the last four swordfish trips fishing in Miami we have captured 9 swordfish up to 275lbs. It has been the best bite Ive seen in a while and reminds me of the old days. On the way out and in from these trips we have been catching tuna and nice gaffer mahis.

Upon hurricane Dorian vacating us. The mullet have pushed in which will spike up our inshore fishing for jack crevele, snook, tarpon, snapper, and lady fish just to name a few.

The weather is going to flatten out this weekend which should produce some good fishing. I have opening this week and next week. If you would like to bend a rod , now would be a good time.

Thoughts and prayers go out to our Bahamian families and friends from the catastrophic Hurricane Dorian engulfing the Abacos and Grand Bahama.
