Sailfish are Here!

Report Date: December 1, 2016

Fishing has started to pick up a bit now that we are entering the winter months and the water temperature has cooled a bit. We are coming into our sailfish season as the fish start to migrate south for the season.

Inshore fishing has been good with Spanish mackeral, bluefish, and lady fish on the beaches. Inside Biscayne bay we have been catching snook, jacks, tarpon, and sea trout. The tarpon fishing on the beaches shall begin too fire up once the shrimp start moving.

Offshore the sailfishing has been good with the right conditions. Some boats are getting into the double digits. We have been averaging between 2-5 sailfish per trip. There have also been some mahi action close to the reef with some bigger kingfish mixed in. On the wrecks we have been catching snapper, grouper, and amberjacks. Further offshore we have been catching tunas, and the occasional wahoo.

Swordfishing has been good in the daytime and at nighttime. There was one boat that landed a 500lb sword over the weekend. I have herd good reports of squid and mackeral offshore which should keep the broadbills around for a while.

Next week begins our first sailfish tournament so I will be booked up most of the week. The following week I still have some seats available if you would like to partake in some deep sea fishing.

Hope every one has a good holiday!
