Sailfish, Sailfish, and more Sailfish

Since the last report it has been sailfish, sailfish, and more sailfish. It seems like the pesky acrobats have taken over the waters between Haulover and South Miami. We have been averaging around five sails a day with the best day being 11 this month. From now until the end of May is the Peak for sailfish.

  Besides from the sailfish there have been a good concentration of footbal blackfin tunas anywhere from 200-400 ft. of water. Blackfins are a blast to catch on the kite because they usually miss the bait two or three times and can get airborn up to five feet. They're also very fun to catch on light tackle. The mutton snapper fishing has been pretty consistent as well as a few amberjacks and almaco jacks on the deeper ship wrecks.

If you would like to go monster fishing there have been an abundance of big game sharks around. From now thru April our exotic sharks come to visit. There have been a few makos, threshers, tigers, and golden hammerheads seen just to name a few. These are targeted with heavy tackle and usually sought after only if the customer is interested in mounting the fish for there wall.

For inshore, the tarpon fishing has been very productive as well ,but unfortunately I haven't had much time to target them.

Like I said before sailfishing is red hot right now in South Florida. If you would like to catch your first one for a trophy or that fish of a life time now would be a good time to go.
