mixed bag of quality fish

Report Date: March 1, 2020

February was fantastic for fishing this year. One of the better ones I have had. There was a good mixture of quality fish and some quantity as well.

Inshore fishing we have been catching some big jack crevelle, the occasional snook and tarpon. We are targeting them in Biscayne Bay fishing light tackle spin gear and live and artificial baits. We use the live bait to chum the waters and get the fish comfortable then our clients can have a blast casting artificials or using live bait . This is a good way for the beginners and families to get acquainted with our sport.

I haven't done a whole lot of reef fishing the past few weeks because my people desired to pack meat and get some food for the table. Our best bet for this has been running offshore deep dropping and looking for tuna and mahi on the way. We have been successful both on the top and on the bottom!

Deep dropping we have been catching some big golden tilefish

, rose fish, and swordfish. It is always nice when the fish cooperate and we can produce the target species! If you are hungry and want to fill the freezer now is the time!!
