Light Tackle Fishing

October has been a great month for light tackle sportfishing. We have been anchoring on the first reef fishing 12lb test and spin tackle. The preferred bait of choice have been small pilchards and sardines.

This is great for beginners and the seasoned fisherman. Lately the shallows have been producing fast action.

  Some of the fish that we catch in the shallows are king mackeral, spanish mackeral, blue runners, ellowtail snapper just to name a few. Lately the shallows have been producing more then the deep.

  We are starting to get our first cold fronts which should improve the fishing as the migrants start heading south.
