Happy New Year

Report Date: January 13, 2011

To start things off, hope every one had a merry christmas and a happy new year.

The fishing in South Florida has been very good the last couple weeks. The kingfish on the reef have showed up in good numbers. We've been having a good deal of green water and south current which is a great recipe for kingfish. Most of the fish are small but there have been some 20-30lb. mixed in.

There have also been some nice wahoo this month. Catching them high speed trolling and others live baiting goggle eyes and speedos have also worked effectively.

Sailfishing continues to get stronger and stronger. Our numbers are coming around the cold fronts but even when the conditions are not prevailing we are still managing to catch 2-3 fish a day. The fishing in Palm Beach is off the charts right now. The Reel Tight out of Pompano Bch. set a Florida record going 58-85 on January 12, 2011. This is unheard of! Hats off to them. They consistently fish almost every day and there day was much deserved. There have been many double digits days this month and we are only in the second week of January.

We are in the peak for sailfish right now, so if you would like to catch one or ten of these fish now would be the time.
