Fall Fun!

Report Date: November 4, 2015

Since my last report, I have re-powered the Frick and Frack with twin 225 Suzuki four strokes. I have been to the Bahamas and back several times in the past month and she runs like a dream. Aside from the new motors I have replaced all four batteries and rewired all electrical outlets for swordfishing and the upcoming sailfish season. September and October are normally our slow time which gives me a chance to go through tackle and maintenance on the boat.

Like I mentioned before I have made several Bahama trips the past few weeks. The first couple trips were excellent with mulltiple wahoo each trip but the last one was slower.

The green water, boat traffic, and massive amounts of sea weed made it very difficult for trolling on our past trip. Luckily we were able to switch over our tactics which enabled us to catch our limit on snappers and some trophy amberjacks.

The fishing locally has improved tremendously as well as over the past couple weeks. On the reef we have been catching kingfish, mahi Spanish mackerel, barracuda, sharks, groupers, and sailfish.

Swordfishing has been very good and will continue to improve as we receive more cold fronts from the North. Our last trip we managed to land one out of three bites. The fish was on the smaller side but as we all know a swordfish is a swordfish. The commercial boats have been averaging between 4-7 fish at night.

As we kick into the season I still have plenty of dates booked for the end of the month. These dates will fill in quickly as we move closer to the holiday season. If you would like to reserve a date with me please call or send me an email.

Look forward to fishing with you,

Sincerely,

Capt. Freddie
